Biking Around The Neighborhood (Part 1 of 12) (A Friends to Lovers Sweet Romance)
As she made the next turn in her car onto Woodwind, she imagined herself riding her bike alongside her group of friends.
Olivia turned the corner onto Sycamore Street, just as she had so many times before as a kid. As she made the next turn in her car onto Woodwind, she imagined herself riding her bike alongside her group of friends.
Melissa, Josh, Anthony, and Tom. Together, the five of them would take their bikes from one end of the town to the other, sometimes in a single morning over the summer break. Even in the early stages of winter, which grabbed hold of the small town as she turned corners, they’d ride their bikes through slush and snow.
In the ten years since graduating high school and moving out of town, she hadn’t kept up with her friends, but always wished for the best for all of them.
123 Pinewood Ln. Her parent’s house.
Olivia pulled in behind her father’s car, the same truck he’d had since her freshman year of college. It didn’t take long for him to appear in the doorway. He stood, holding the door open for her, with his signature red and black flannel and blue jeans, a look, according to pictures, he’d been happy to wear since before meeting her mother. His once dark beard, now speckled with white, reached his shirt collar.
“Hey, Dad. How’s mom doing?”
“Olly.” He opened his arms for a hug. “She’s in the sunroom,” he replied. “She’ll be happy to see you.”
Olivia pushed away a tear and embraced her father.
